How I Can Support You
Personalized support designed around your needs. From the very first steps of pregnancy through birth and up to six weeks postpartum.
Hello, I’m Dr. Mykeshia,
I am a Board-Certified Doctor of Natural Medicine and Holistic Health Practitioner currently in my final phase of becoming a Certified Licensed Midwife.
In the photo, to the left, is my very first birth as a Primary Midwife. It was truly an honor to support and serve this beautiful family during such a sacred and life-changing experience.
In addition to midwifery, I am pursuing my Registered Nurse (RN) degree to further expand my clinical knowledge and scope of care. I am a Certified Birth, Postpartum, VBAC, and NICU Doula, as well as a Lactation Counselor, Childbirth Educator, Sleep Educator, and Placenta Specialist.
My clinical certifications include Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers. I am also a Master Herbalist, Nutritional Consultant, Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), and Clinical Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA).
With years of hands-on experience caring for families from the cradle to the grave, my mission is to provide holistic, evidence-based, and compassionate care that empowers individuals throughout every stage of life.

What Families Often Ask
These are some of the questions I’m most frequently asked about my doula services. If you don’t see your question here, please reach out. I’m happy to answer.
A midwife is a trained medical professional who provides clinical care throughout pregnancy, birth, and sometimes postpartum. Midwives can perform exams, monitor your health, and manage the birth process.
A doula offers continuous emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after birth, focusing on comfort, advocacy, and guidance. Doulas do not provide medical care.
Together, midwives and doulas complement each other, combining expert medical care with personalized support for a positive birth experience.
The earlier, the better! Many families begin working with a midwife or doula in the first or second trimester to ensure continuity of care and build a trusting relationship. Some families reach out later in pregnancy, and while it’s possible to start in the third trimester, earlier planning allows for more comprehensive support and preparation for birth.
Yes! I support families at home and in birth centers, and I also attend hospital births as a doula. My role is to help you feel comfortable, informed, and empowered in any setting.
Absolutely. I work alongside your partner to help them feel confident, supported, and included in the birth experience. My presence frees them to focus on you without the pressure of remembering every detail.
In some situations, a trusted backup doula may be available if I’m unexpectedly unable to attend, and an introduction can be arranged when possible. Virtual support is also offered as needed.
We know that personalized care is a meaningful investment, and we’re glad to work with you on flexible payment arrangements.
